President’s Letter

It is an honor serve this year as the Junior League of Fairfield County’s 106th president. This group offers us the unique ability to befriend women of all ages and backgrounds, to serve our community and the people who really need help, and to have special opportunities to learn from each other. Women can accomplish amazing things when we do them together. I feel so lucky to be surrounded by so many interesting, smart, diverse, multi-talented women.
The Junior League members have given hundreds of hours to make change this past year and have made very real, tangible impacts. Every time I drive by the two Habitat for Humanities houses in Fairfield, I feel a twinge of pride that we had a small part in that. Or, when I think of the kids who have books at home thanks for our book drive for Read to Grow, or the families that didn’t go hungry for one more night thanks to our Cook and Feeds for Operation Hope, I feel so fulfilled. I think of the 3rd grade girls who left the Positively Me pilot program with more self-confidence that they will carry with them through adulthood. I look forward to all of the good work we will do with our community partners this year, and the new and exciting projects to come. I want to thank the board members and Enchanted Castle committee members for your tireless efforts to make this year as impactful for the League and the community as possible.
Thank you to all of our current and sustaining members, as well as our founders and early members who came before us, for working so hard and giving so much to make our community a better place. I am grateful to be counted among your ranks. And if you’ve heard of the Junior League and have been wondering what it is all about, come check it out today!
